Hello everyone,

I feel somewhat stupid for not trying this earlier on, but I just didn't
think to do it. But Andrew's suggestion to add the c99 flag to the c
compiler seems to have done the trick.

I'm not getting an error any longer, and the compilation process is at 94%
now. WOOHOO! I appreciate all the help and input everyone has offered here.
