[Trilinos-Users] problems with ReplaceGlobalValues

Dear Alan,
      i understand fully that the behaviour is not fully determined, in
the sense that the value could be (using your example) either 5 or 7. 
The thing i would expect in any case is to have one of the two values to
be preferred over the other (i don't mind which one of the two, but the
value chosen should be consistent between the processors).
For sure "Replace" does not suggest "sum" (in this case i would use
SumIntoGlobalValues).

What i am trying to do is to use the FECRsMAtrix as an utility for a
Refining algorithm i am writing.
What i need is that each element "colors" the edges (read, entries I,J)
he touches. Following my idea all of the elements on each partition 
will assign (read Replace)  the Id of their partition to all of their
edges. Edges that are contemporary on one partition should be assigned
the id of ONE of the partitions to which they belong.
My next step would be to import the overlapping edges on each of the
processors so that i can understand who "owns" the given edge.

I would also use the same system for providing a (temporary) numeration
to the new nodes to be created. If you like i can give a link to
the serial implementation of the algorithm.

do you have any suggestion on how i could obtain such behaviour?
