All,

=20

Many users have expressed interest in being able to skip BLAS and LAPACK
library checks. We recently introduced a new option=20

=20

-disable-libcheck=20

=20

that does just that when used along with the existing -disable-tests and
-disable-examples options. **This option does not remove the need to =
have a
valid BLAS and LAPACK library for linking to Trilinos package =
libraries.**

=20

Users who use this option and later have linking problems should go back =
and
remove the option to make sure that the BLAS and LAPACK libraries that =
they
are using are compatible. Those users who are not interested in tests =
and
examples and have built Trilinos in the past can potentially save time =
by
using this new option. Those who build Trilinos as part of an automated
build process might also wish to take advantage of this option because =
it
can reduce the number of necessary machine-specific options that have to =
be
passed to configure.

=20

The option is available in the current 4.0 release tarball (it was not
included in the early 4.0 release tarballs) as well as in the =
development
branch.

=20

Please direct any questions or comments about the new option to
trilinos-help@software.sandia.gov.

=20

Thanks

=20

Jim
